Therapy for young women of color healing from painful childhood experiences

You survived what happened. Now it’s time to live, for real.

Does this sound like you?

You perceive your parents’ breakup as a reflection of your self-worth

You were often caught in the middle of family fights and arguments, left to choose whose side you were on

You second-guess the decisions you make and struggle to trust your own judgement

A part of you mourns the childhood you could’ve had because way too much was shared or witnessed at a young age, forcing you to grow up too soon

You ignore red flags and stay in toxic relationships because the fear of being alone or left for someone else feels worse

You’re afraid your family history will determine the family you create

You associate small disagreements with others as life-altering and permanent change, assuming the worse outcome.

You’re territorial over friends and love interests because it triggers fears that they’ll leave you, choose someone else, or betray you.

Are you motivated to finally move past unhealthy thought patterns and unhelpful tendencies that have been keeping you from living your best life?

Meet your Trauma therapist in Lawrenceville, Georgia!

First of all—shoutout to you for choosing healing. Seriously. It takes courage to look at the things that hurt, the patterns you don’t understand, and the parts of yourself you’ve had to protect for so long.

I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can exhale, be yourself, laugh when you want to, cry when you need to, and finally talk about the things you’ve been carrying. My approach combines compassion, humor, evidence-based therapy, and a little, “so… what are you really saying?” type energy. And yes, apparently my New York accent is part of the experience.

I understand how painful family experiences can shape your confidence, relationships, and sense of self. My own experiences with family separation, conflict, and disrupted co-parenting sparked a passion for helping young Black women heal from the past without allowing it to hinder their future forward.

My hope is for you to actually live, and live purposefully, far beyond day-to-day survival.

Therapy services are available.

‍ ‍Yeah, it’s a lot. Let’s talk about it: Yes, recovery is possible. No, it won’t happen overnight. Yes, it’ll be a journey. No, you won’t regret trying.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma can shape the way you see yourself, relate to others, and navigate the world, even long after the experience has passed. Through trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we’ll explore how painful experiences may have influenced the thoughts, beliefs, and patterns you carry today. Together, we’ll work to challenge unhelpful beliefs, develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen self-trust, and create new ways of responding that support the life you want to build.

Teen Therapy

Your teen may not always have the words to explain what they’re going through, but their behavior, mood, or withdrawal may be telling you a whole lot! We provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where teens can feel heard, work through anxiety, depression, family challenges, and painful experiences, and develop healthier ways to cope, communicate, and navigate life.
